Child Safety Standards

Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

Last updated September 19, 2026

In short

  • FolkyTalk, operated by Mikaris Tech, has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
  • FolkyTalk is for adults (18+) only, and must never be used to review a child.
  • Any child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is removed, the account is banned, and we report it to the authorities.
  • Report a concern any time: query@folkytalk.com.

1. Scope

These standards apply to the FolkyTalk app on Android and iOS and to this website, both operated by Mikaris Tech. They apply to everyone who uses FolkyTalk, to every kind of content (reviews, comments, names, usernames, profile pictures and messages to us), and to behaviour on and off the app that is connected to FolkyTalk.

2. What is prohibited

We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation in any form, including:

  • child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video, text or AI-generated content that depicts or sexualises a minor;
  • grooming: building a relationship with a child in order to abuse or exploit them;
  • sextortion, and any threat or pressure involving sexual images of a minor;
  • sexualising minors in any way, including comments or reviews about a child;
  • trafficking, and any attempt to arrange contact with a child for sexual purposes;
  • sharing, requesting or linking to any such material, or content that promotes it.

3. Adults only

You must be 18 or older to use FolkyTalk. It is not allowed to review a person under 18. We remove accounts we believe belong to a minor, and reviews we believe concern a minor.

4. How to report

If you see or suspect anything that puts a child at risk:

  • email our child-safety contact, query@folkytalk.com, or use the child-safety form. Tell us what you saw and, if you can, the username involved;
  • if a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.

Please do not download, copy or forward abusive material, even to report it: describe it instead. You can also report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline or to a hotline in your country through INHOPE.

5. How we respond

  • Every child-safety report is treated as urgent and reviewed by a person.
  • Content that breaks these standards is removed, and the accounts involved are permanently banned.
  • We preserve the information the law requires, for the authorities.
  • We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the competent authorities in the relevant country, as the law requires.
  • We cooperate with law-enforcement requests made through proper legal channels.

6. Prevention

  • FolkyTalk has no public feed, no direct messages between users, and no way to send photos or files to another user.
  • Nothing a user writes is ever displayed to another user: private comments only inform AI-written summaries.
  • Users must confirm they are 18 or older when they sign up.
  • To review someone found by search, a user must already know their phone number or email address.

7. Compliance

Mikaris Tech complies with the child-safety laws that apply to FolkyTalk, including reporting obligations, and with Google Play’s and Apple’s child-safety requirements. We review these standards regularly.

8. Designated contact

Our child-safety point of contact can be reached at query@folkytalk.com. This person can speak to our CSAM prevention practices and compliance.
